1 cage, 2 actors, 500 helium balloons, 140 glasses of sparkling wine, 1000 tie-free pins and endless amounts of Dresscode21 love – Tie Free Day 2008 was a success. Tie Free Day was comprised by two different events: the actions on Hauptplatz and mingel party at Steirische Innovationsgeschichten.
Fun, strange, peculiar, amusing, interesting… These were some of the reactions on our event at the Hauptplatz in Graz on the 21st of October. As part of the celebration of freedom from strangulating ties we had invited two tie wearing men to share their view on wearing ties – from the inside of a cage. They were not very happy with their situation and not afraid to tell people passing by. This led to many amusing and interesting discussions about ties, dress codes and iron free shirts.
Our second event on the 21st of October was part of ‘Steirische Innovationsgeschichten’. The location for the event was the crowded and stylish Murinsel in Graz. The evening was comprised by a mix of live music, buffet, poetry slam, a panel discussion about innovation and dress codes with Evelina and Marietheres from Dresscode21, our business angel Reinhard Willfort, ISN - Innovation Service Network, the head of Creative Industries Styria, Eberhard Schrempf, Ridi Steibl initiator of Gründerinnenzentrum Steiermark and Peter Bartsch, head of research and development at Lenzing AG. Everything excellently moderated by Ulli Glettler.
Tie Free Day 2008 was our day. Thank you for joining in on the celebrations on the 21st of October 2008 by leaving your tie at home and putting on the tie-free pin!
